The end is nigh...

We started out with a little housekeeping. We rescued the girl and her son, interrogated the two surviving bandits, handed them over to the Throalic patrols, and then escorted the boy and his mother to Anarchon's Hope.
By the time we had arrived, things were already pear-shaped. People had been disappearing for a while from this place, but in the past couple days someone had spotted one of us killing a little girl.
If you recall, the dreamspeaker, whom for a long while we had believed to be the Passion Garlen had instructed us to come to Anarchon's Hope so that Anarchon could perform a ritual that would banish the Horror that had been stalking us for the past few months.
Anyway, when we arrive we are met by an angry mob and Anarchon. Anarchon talks them down from wanting to attack us, but he wants us to disarm and surrender to his custody. It is right about here that Arumvandar picks up on some smugness.
We start getting ready to bail, when Nagle talks us down. He's hoping to avoid unnecessary bloodshed. He convinces us that he can sort it out, that we should surrender our weapons to Nagle, and then we get locked up in an animal husbandry room next to the barn. Not content to just sit there, Drostan finds a place to get out, and Morgue possesses a rat so we can listen in on the exchange.
Nagle argues that the person seen could not have been us, that we were all with him at the time of the supposed crime. True. Anarchon is waiting for some questors of Garlen to show up in the next day or two, which technically, is probably us. But he wouldn't think that, because he believes we're all horror-touched.
We decide that we need to spring the trap. We will let him know that we're the questors he's waiting for, and that we have the object he needs to complete the ritual. Morgue is convinced that the ritual is going to summon, rather than banish the horror.
